About Gneta
The app failed. The evidence was still useful.
What changed
Running the app gave us a rare aggregate view of how predictions, readiness scores and recovery metrics behaved across real training histories. It also made the limitations impossible to ignore.
Before deleting the personal data, we computed the aggregate results needed for a defined set of studies. The publication now tests claims, explains metrics, fixes common problems and provides calculators that show their assumptions.
The point is not to be anti-watch. Training watches are useful. They are simply much better at measuring some things than interpreting what those measurements mean for you today.
Who is behind it
Gneta is written and maintained by Joakim Eriksson through Solidary Solutions AB. The authority claim is deliberately narrow: I built and operated the analytics service the aggregate data came from, wrote the analysis code and publish the methods so the work can be checked.
No invented sports-science credentials. No anonymous editorial team. Corrections and uncomfortable findings stay visible.
